First Day of School - Monday, August 12  (Staggered entry for Kindergarten)

Sad News

It is with great sadness that I share with you the news that Daniel Marks, one of our graduating 8th graders passed away earlier this week.  Daniel battled cancer valiantly during his school years at ABS.  His cancer was in remission and he was able to return to ABS last year as an 8th grader.  He was a bright star in our classrooms and hallways, and on stage as young Simba in Lion King. He will be greatly missed by us all.   Please hold his family in your hearts as they progress through these tough days.  We will keep you posted on arrangements and ways to support the family as we know more.

Openings at First Grade South Campus

We have a few spots open at the South Campus in first grade if you know of someone trying to get into ABS.  Please spread the word.  If interested, apply for an open spot by completing the Lotterease lottery application for 1st grade South Campus.  These spots are first come first serve.

Special Visits

Educational research shows that the relationship between the student and his or her teacher is one of the most important factors in a student’s academic success.  This critical relationship is enhanced by our small class size and our educators’ commitment to children.  In support of the teacher/student relationship, our teachers will be offering a Special Visit before school begins.  A Special Visit is simply an opportunity for your child to meet his or her teacher in a familiar setting, a chance to learn a bit about the class and what to expect in the coming school year.   This year’s scheduled days for Special Visits are August 6 and 7, 2024.  Your child’s teacher will be contacting you to schedule a 15-20 minute appointment when they return from summer break, after August 1st.
