Meet our support staff
Jennifer Carter – Speech Pathologist
Jennifer has been the speech-language pathologist at ABS since 2009. She obtained her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Speech-Language Pathology at East Carolina University. She has experience working in several different settings with a variety of ages but is passionate about the school-age population and helping increase student’s communication skills and academic success. She is licensed through the state of North Carolina and certified through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. In her free time, she loves to read, hike, cook, run, and spend time with her husband and daughter.
Mrs. Green is a veteran teacher who is in her 12th year at ABS. She is a graduate of Wake Forest University where she studied Sociology and Studio Art. She received her Masters Degree in Education from Salem College. Mrs. Green is a National Board Certified teacher, and licensed in Academically and Intellectually Gifted education (K-12), and as a Reading Specialist (K-12). Mrs. Green enjoys supporting teachers and is especially passionate about helping new teachers feel confident and successful. In her spare time she stays busy reading, gardening, drawing, cooking, and spending time with her husband and three-year-old son.
Keri graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a degree in elementary and special education. She moved to Burlington, North Carolina upon graduation, where she taught third and fourth grades. She LOVES teaching second grade at ABS! In her free time, Keri loves spending time at home with her husband, Wayne, and new little girl, Kaiah. She enjoys reading literature, hiking, relaxing at the beach, and serving in the children’s ministry at her church. Keri is a HUGE Colts football fan – Go Blue!
Ceci McGuire – Reading Specialist
Ceci McGuire has been the reading specialist at ABS since 2006. She enjoys having the opportunity to work with students in many grade levels. She went to the University of Cincinnati for her undergraduate work and received her masters of Language and Literacy from Salem College. She lives in Lewisville with her husband, daughter (an ABS alumni) and two cute kitty cats.
Amanda has worked as a counselor in various settings for over 15 years, but loves being at ABS the most! She received her BA in Psychology at Salem College and her Masters in Education in Counseling at Wake Forest University. In addition to working with students, she loves animals of all kinds (especially dogs!), loves the great outdoors, and is also a photographer. She especially loves helping children express themselves through photography and other art forms.
