Yvonne Leab – Sixth Grade Teacher
Yvonne is in her fifteenth year of teaching.  Originally, she is from California and is bilingual in Spanish.  She graduated from Salem College and is licensed K-6 Elementary.  She completed her Masters degree in reading from Gardner-Webb University and is currently back in school, attending Appalachian State.  She is thrilled to be part of the ABS family.  Aside from teaching, Mrs. Leab loves going to the beach, reading, and spending time with family.

 

 

 

Jaclyn Purdy- Sixth Grade Teacher
Jaclyn has been teaching for over 13 years to a wide variety of students and age levels, and is dedicated to teaching students.  She received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology, and has a K-6 License in Elementary Education from Salem College.  In addition, she has completed a Master’s of Education program at Salem College and is a Licensed Reading Specialist K-12. She has lived in Winston-Salem for 17 years, and has lived in Pennsylvania and Florida.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 5 year old son, and their two dogs.  Her hobbies include enjoying and studying nature, cooking, music, art and dance.  She is thrilled to be joining the ABS community, and is looking forward to a fantastic school year.
