Leigh Cohen – Second Grade Teacher
Leigh is a NC Teaching Fellow who graduated from the Watson School of Education at UNC Wilmington and began teaching at Arts Based in 2007. She is licensed in academically and intellectually gifted education. Her favorite subjects are math and science. She loves working with 2nd graders because of their enthusiasm for learning. Outside of school, Ms. Cohen enjoys watching movies, reading, traveling, roller skating, and painting.
Tiffany Parris – Second Grade Teacher
Tiffany graduated from the College of Design at NC State University with a degree in Graphic Design. She continued her education at Salem College, where she attained North Carolina state teaching licensure in both K-6th grade Elementary Education and K-12th grade Art Education as well as a Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching. Outside the classroom, she is a mother of 4 children, enjoys film photography, and trying new recipes in the kitchen. She loves doing triathlons, marathons, and ultra-marathons in her “down time”.
Keri Sankey – Second Grade Teacher
Keri graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a degree in elementary and special education. She moved to Burlington, North Carolina upon graduation, where she taught third and fourth grades. She LOVES teaching second grade at ABS! In her free time, Keri loves spending time at home with her husband, Wayne, and new little girl, Kaiah. She enjoys reading literature, hiking, relaxing at the beach, and serving in the children’s ministry at her church. Keri is a HUGE Colts football fan – Go Blue!
