Anne Faulkner – EC Assistant
Anne Faulkner is excited to begin her third year as part of the ABS family in a new role, middle school EC assistant. She grew up here in Winston-Salem and is a graduate of Salem . In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, sewing and reading.
Liz Green – Curriculum Coordinator
Mrs. Green is a veteran teacher who is in her 11th year at ABS. She is a graduate of Wake Forest University where she studied Sociology and Studio Art. She received her Masters Degree in Education from Salem College. Mrs. Green is a National Board Certified teacher, and licensed in Academically and Intellectually Gifted education (K-12) and as a Reading Specialist (K-12). Mrs. Green enjoys supporting teachers and is especially passionate about helping new teachers feel confident and successful. In her spare time she stays busy reading, gardening, drawing, cooking and spending time with her husband and two-year-old son.
Whitney Lang – Exceptional Children’s Teacher
Mrs. Lang has been in the field of education and children’s services for eighteen years, primarily serving students with special needs. She received her degrees in psychology and special education at Salem College in Winston Salem, NC. Mrs. Lang’s passion is to help children develop self-confidence to be successful in school.
Ceci McGuire – Reading Specialist
Ceci McGuire has been the reading specialist at ABS since 2006. She enjoys having the opportunity to work with students in many grade levels. She went to the University of Cincinnati for her undergraduate work and received her masters of Language and Literacy from Salem College. She lives in Lewisville with her husband, daughter (an ABS alumni) and two cute kitty cats.
Amanda Sullivan – School Counselor
Ms. Sullivan has worked as a counselor in various settings for over 15 years, but loves being at ABS the most! She received her BA in Psychology at Salem College and her Masters in Education in Counseling at Wake Forest University. In addition to working with students, she loves animals of all kinds (especially dogs!), loves the great outdoors, and is also a photographer. She especially loves helping children express themselves through photography and other art forms.
Jennifer Carter – Speech Pathologist
Jennifer has been the speech-language pathologist at ABS since 2009. She obtained her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Speech-Language Pathology at East Carolina University. She has experience working in several different settings with a variety of ages but is passionate about the school-age population and helping increase student’s communication skills and academic success. She is licensed through the state of North Carolina and certified through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. In her free time, she loves to read, hike, cook, run, and spend time with her husband and one year old daughter.
