Lisa Hendrix – Middle School  Math Teacher
We welcome Mrs. Hendrix to the Middle School Team at the Arts Based School!







Kimberly Dickson – Middle School Science Teacher
Kimberly has been happily educating middle level students for over 14 years.  She has a Master of Education degree with a concentration in math and science curriculum.  Mrs. Dickson is a happily married mother of two children. Nicole is a tax accountant in Charlotte and Carter is a junior at A.U. in SC.  She enjoys an active classroom environment and sees her teaching role to be one of guide and mentor as students learn to become responsible for their own learning and empowered as they prepare to enter high school.




LeeAnn Farrell – Middle School Social Studies Teacher
LeeAnn has been a part of the ABS family for the last 11 years and is now excited to bring her passion for history to our middle school. She received both an undergraduate degree in History and a Masters of Education from Salem College. LeeAnn is a National Board Certified teacher as well. Much of her free time is spent keeping up with her three teenage daughters and new son. She enjoys sewing, reading historic fiction novels and traveling with her family.




Jennifer Lewis – Middle School  Math Teacher
Jennifer Lewis begins her 3rd year at ABS, working with middle school students in mathematics.  She teaches the advanced high school courses, Math 1 and Math 2, and leads small groups of 6th graders in enrichment activities.  Mrs. Lewis is also working with 7th and 8th grade students in Math Lab once a week.  She has 19 years of teaching experience, ranging from 4th – 12th grade, and carries a special love for Algebra.  Mrs. Lewis is married, has 3 children, 1 son-in-law, and most recently became a grandmother.  Her family raises Golden doodles and Golden Retrievers and she loves to sew and spend time outside.




Lenora McNamara – Middle School Language Arts Teacher
Lenora is thrilled to join the middle school team for her 12th year at ABS. She attended Wake Forest University where she studied Education with a concentration in English Language Arts. She received her Master’s Degree from UNCG, and is a National Board Certified Teacher. When not teaching, she enjoys reading, yoga, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and son.
