It’s always hard to say goodbye. We thank each of our teachers for their time and commitment to ABS in helping develop into the school that we are.
Angie Allen will be leaving Winston-Salem and the Arts Based School. Although she’s only been with us a year, she’s had a great and positive impact on our music program. We wish her the best in her next adventure!
It’s with a heavy heart I share the news of Betsy Messick‘s decision to leave ABS. After 16 years of amazing service in the kindergarten classroom, the art studio, and as an ABS parent, Betsy will be taking a break from teaching to spend more time with her family. Thank you to Betsy for her tireless efforts to bring joy and creativity to our school, our students, and our community. We’ll miss her deeply.
Band and Strings
With Ms. Allen’s departure, we are searching for a new music teacher in the middle school grades. Our after-school strings and band programs and our band requirement are dependent on the skills and gifts our new teacher will bring us. Please read Thursday Notes to keep up to date on next year’s offerings!
Middle School Music and K-4 Art
If you know a licensed middle school music teacher or a licensed K-8 art teacher who would love to work with our amazing kids and colleagues, please let them know we are searching! They can visit artsbasedschool.com and visit “Our Staff,” or email Principal Hollis for more information, at email@example.com
