Meet our fifth grade teachers
Laura Lynne Frazier – Fifth Grade Teacher
Laura Lynne loves teaching 5th grade at ABS! She enjoys working with her colleagues creating interesting units of study for the very curious students at Arts Based School. She has 3 grown children – one married son in the Marines, another son working in Wilmington, and a daughter working in Winston Salem and Yadkinville. This year she has the special privilege of having her daughter in law and 2 year old grandson living with her while her son is deployed. And granddog, Leo, along with her own dogs, Sparky and Charlie. Laura Lynne loves music (she directed children’s choirs for 15 years, sings and plays the flute), reading, walking, going to movies, visiting the various wineries and breweries here in North Carolina, and traveling with her musician husband, Rob.
Leni Fragakis – Fifth Grade Teacher
Leni Fragakis graduated from High Point University with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. She earned her M.Ed. in Elementary Education with a focus in literacy and completed her add-on administrative license at HPU. At ABS, she has worked as a first grade assistant and a third grade teacher. Her current adventure is working on her Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus in cultural foundations at UNCG. Because of her past work in libraries, she has a passion for reading and especially children’s books, which has led her to publish two integrated units of study for the International Literacy Association. In her spare time, Ms. Leni watches basketball, spends time with her big Greek family, and teaches cardio dance and body pump group fitness classes.
Rebecca Koza – Fifth Grade Teacher
Becky graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in Elementary Education and minors in communication and dance. She earned her Master of Science in Education with a focus in Technology for Educators from Johns Hopkins University. She is also licensed in academically and intellectually gifted education. While at WFU, Becky was awarded the Jerry A. Hall Excellence in Student Teaching Award. She was also the recipient of the 2013 National Science Teacher Association Maitland P. Simmons Memorial Award for New Teachers. She loves bringing her love of dance and theater into the classroom, utilizing technology to enhance learning, and developing innovative ways to challenge and inspire students. When not in the classroom, Becky enjoys being involved in local musical theater on stage or as a choreographer, cheering on the Deacs at Wake Forest football games, and spending time at the beach with her family!
